Crohn’s disease (CD) is a progressive, chronic, immune-mediated disorder of the gastrointestinal tract. Symptoms of CD can overlap with other common diagnosis such as irritable bowel disease (IBS). Diagnosis of CD is based on clinical, endoscopic, and histological criteria. Diagnosis is often delayed due to a variety of reasons. Delay in diagnosis can highly impact the treatment course and is associated with the development of disease complications. The focus of this presentation is to discuss the clinical factors associated with diagnostic delay of CD and highlight methods that can be used to prevent this phenomenon
